Lotus Communities: Luxury Homes, Contemporary Lifestyle
Luxurious. Grandiose. Sleek. These are the words that spring into mind when one thinks of the Lotus communities; an exemplary piece of contemporary living located within the West Boca Raton area. These communities, developed by GL Homes, offer a collection of homes that maintain an emphasis on an ultramodern lifestyle and sophisticated design.
Beginning with Lotus, introduced in 2019, the Lotus family now consists of three distinct communities: Lotus, located north of Clint Moore Rd and east of Lyons; Lotus Palm, located north of Glades Rd just west of the Florida Turnpike; and their newest expansion named Lotus Edge, located on the corner of Lyons and Glades, south of Olympic Heights High School. Each of these communities are situated in a prime area in West Boca, boasting a wide array of convenient amenities such as a variety of areas to shop, a plethora of parks to relax in, and a series of highly-rated schools including Lynn and Florida Atlantic Universities (both under a 10 minutes drive away).
As for the residences themselves, Lotus designs each home with “unique contemporary vibes” in mind, according to GL representative Marcie DePlaza. These vibes shine through in each home’s high-end features such as gourmet kitchens, quartz countertops, and elegant flooring. While these designs range in offerings from modest 1,996 sq. ft. 3-bedroom homes to lavish 5,160 sq. ft. 5-bedroom residences, each home guarantees a level of quality that is difficult to find anywhere else in Florida. One can be sure that in a Lotus community, they’ve found a place for life.
One can trace the history of the Lotus communities back to GL Homes’s previous communities in the Boca Raton area, namely the Bridges collection of communities consisting of Boca Bridges, Seven Bridges, and The Bridges. These communities formed the first step in the foothold that GL Homes would have in developing the west Boca Raton area into a center of luxury and commerce. While the Bridges collection emphasized a focus on residences for retirement, GL Homes found that the demand for well-made, reliable single-family housing in West Boca existed, and from that, Lotus was born.
The first Lotus began seeing early move-ins in 2019, however its full development would not quite see completion until 2023. This community boasts a 30,000 sq. ft. clubhouse, a large lap pool, an indoor basketball court, an outdoor café, a game room, seven tennis courts, and six pickleball courts. Lotus would then see a successor in Lotus Palm, which began seeing move-ins in 2023. Lotus Palm continues the GL Homes effort to offer the most luxurious and high-end homes possible, with a series of sophisticated home designs and an entirely new clubhouse that contains a whole host of modern amenities including a 24/7 fitness center, yoga garden, card salon, arcade, bistro, and outdoor bar.
The newest addition to the Lotus brand is Lotus Edge, which plans to see its first move-ins in 2024. With Lotus Edge, GL Homes aims to raise the bar of contemporary high-end living, with customizable designs that include brand new upgrades to the standard home features, such as stained solid wood stair treads and linear drains in all primary bath showers. These new designs also include all-new smart home and eco-friendly features, such as MyQ Smart Garage Door Openers and Daikin One-Touch Thermostats.
All three Lotus communities are located in a highly-popular commercial area in West Boca, with various attractions and noteworthy destinations for shopping and leisure just a short walk or drive away. Not least of these amenities is the Delray Marketplace, a vibrant and contemporary shopping plaza located on the corner of Lyons Rd and Atlantic Ave. Here you’ll find not only a variety of stores to suit just about any needs one may have, but also a plethora of activities to spend time with friends or family, such as the EVO Entertainment movie theater or Penny Lanes bowling alley. The Delray Marketplace energetic atmosphere is only matched by the Town Center at Boca Raton, Boca’s premier shopping destination. The Town Center boasts over 200 stores, with an emphasis on fashion and luxury clothing brands. For those who prefer a more outdoor-focused lifestyle, this area is also home to several key nature reserves and recreation areas, such as the Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.
